Ah... As you. It has been some time. [Has anyone said it's good to see him before? The question briefly appears in Anasui's mind. If someone had said it, it would have definitely been in the Bay and not said to him as a human. It's an idle thought but one has in that moment regardless. It's not something that Anasui shows on his face, and he turns to look out in the forest once more.]
...Lead the way. [He figures Ingo would know better than him. Anasui mostly knows theory when it comes to foraging. He assumes being the Warden from some mountains, Ingo would know better.]
[ Ingo ambles along, naturally falling into the lead. He seems to have an idea of where to go already; he walks past the areas nearest to the village without really pausing to look for anything. These parts are always cleared out by lower-level teams. Being more experienced, it's only sensible that they go farther afield.
He has one floppy ear angled back towards Anasui as they walk, and glances back to speak fairly quickly. ]
Did you enjoy the holiday? My world does not have one quite like it, but we do have a midwinter festival! I made some of those foods on the day proper.
[Not only are they more experienced but they also have the added advantage of being taller than a meter - they're not going to be neck-deep in snow like some of the other teams. Anasui strides after Ingo, a small smile coming over his face. Usually, Anasui's not one for small talk but... well... Ingo has touched one of his favourite topics.]
I did. My world has something called Christmas, which is not unlike the holiday we had here at the Bay. It was the first time in nearly five years I got to exchange presents and celebrate it outside of a prison cell. It was nice. The kid seemed to enjoy it too.
Right. You mentioned that... But I doubt it's that complicated. [It's hard to tell but Anasui definitely is flagging that he's happy to listen to Ingo talk about it, though also fine with dropping the topic if Ingo wants to.]
We would not easily be able to see one another again, if we did separate then. At least, I do not think we could. Maybe it would be possible, but...well. We have never really discussed it.
[ He doesn't know what Emmet thinks about it all. ]
Seems to me like the conditions of going home, if they exist, are pretty arbitrary. Hard to say if it would or would be possible.
Hmph... Do you want to discuss it with him? The possibility of being separated again? Would he even listen? Emmet is a good training partner but he's... how do you two say it... locked on one track?
He is, a bit. I am not sure how he feels about it.
[ ..... ]
I am not entirely sure how I feel about it. I certainly do not wish to leave everyone behind without a word! That is precisely what I did to him, after all! But...I do not wish to be separated, either.
Makes sense. Not exactly a normal conversation topic.
[Anasui pulls out a nice clump of near-frozen seeds as he mulls over what to say next. He's not good with 'people' and 'sympathy' but he is trying.]
But, you two want to be together. Makes sense. At this stage, that's probably all you both need to know, and you can figure out the whole feelings shit later.

Well! I am very happy for you, then!

Mmm... It was good. ... If I'm lucky, I'll be able to celebrate it like that next year.

[ Ingo thinks for a second, snuffling along the ground. ]
I wonder if we are fated to spend another year here...?

[Now that Ingo is snuffling, Anasui starts using his long talons to skim through the snow in an effort to find food.]

I would not mind it so much, I suppose...
no subject
Nothing for you there either?
no subject
[ He didn't mean to imply that! ]
It is just...complicated. Emmet and I hardly came here along the same tracks...

shall we wrap? Unless there's more to cover?
